GLOBAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (GCD) is a US based, non-confessional, apolitical and independent non-profit organization supporting sustainable development initiatives. Global Community Development works to build a fair and more equitable world, aiming to end global poverty. We support and implement projects that give the opportunity for healthy, self sustainable living, while in harmonious balance with the environment. We support projects that give opportunities to communities around the world, for a higher sustainable standard of living. We believe that education is the cornerstone that enables us as individuals rich or poor, to become self aware, and provide the opportunity to assume responsibility for our own living experience and our affect upon our environment. We work to generate changes, by educating, supporting, and implementing projects that foster moral, physical, mental, spiritual, social, and environmental improvements within ourselves, each-other, and the world.

Our Vision
We believe that education, implementation and support are major keys to progress.
We strive to put necessary effort, and to give full support in progressive development of the Global Community.
Through experiential education, bringing about awareness, and by making responsible choices with technology, medicine, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, tourism and high functioning communication, we can all progress into a higher standard of living. We can all be sustained by the Earth’s natural recycled resources, preserving our Planet.
We are co-creators of the world. What we think and do, affects the reality of the whole.

MOM-WOW PROJECT
MOMO/WOW-project stands for “Magic Organic Meals/ World of Wisdom.” It is a pilot program designed by Global Community Development a non-profit organization, to implement organic, wholesome in school lunch programs, supporting local farms, with a self- sustainable organic coop system and an emphasis for nutritional education through “experiential learning.”
This year 2008, our students have chosen “Global Warming” to be our Solidarity Cause, promoting renewable energy consumption, supporting sustainable agriculture with organic farming, bringing about increased environmental awareness, and supporting alternative/preventative medicine as part of our Health protocol. The students hope to reach out, and support behavioral changes in our lives that will contribute to the preservation of a “Healthy Planet”. It is just as important to take care of our inner environment as it is our outer environment. We are a reflection of our world and our world is a reflection of ourselves.
